Weapons and armour
Weapon and armour collection of Historical museum consists of about 16000 items: awarded and parade guns and arm blanche. Rich collection of eastern weapons contains of shields, swords, daggers, scimitars, knives and guns XVII-XIX centuries. One of the most precious item is a Turkish "kalkan" shield XVII century. Original masterpiece of weapon department is a saber of Count Chernyshev. To museums’ rarity refers saber of Emperor Napoleon, broadsword of Sweden King Karl XIV Johan, baculus of Marshal Louis-Nikolas Davout and dueling pistols of General Victor Léopold Berthier.
Unique collection of Western European Renaissance weapon and armour was represented in 2016 on the "King’s games" exhibition.
